Geoff Juby left school in his village at 16 to go into full-time catering. After qualifying, he travelled extensively in the Middle East and England.
His interest in politics began during the poll tax protests and he became involved with the Liberal Democrats. By 1996 he was a member of Gillingham Council and was elected to the unitary Medway Council (one of the biggest in England) in 1997. He served on Kent & Medway Fire Authority as Vice Chair and has run popular ward campaigns on hospital parking facilities.
He was the candidate in Medway the 2001 and 2005 general elections.
Geoff and his wife Nemia and their two children are active members of their local church and Geoff helps with youth activities.
Geoff was elected to Medway Council in the 1997 Council elections and is the Leader of the Liberal Democrat group. He was the Parliamentary Candidate in the old constituency for the 2001 and 2005 General Elections and has already been selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats at the next General Election whenever that may be called.
